This is an example of my flower paintings, which can be found under the tab "Landscapes and Flowers." I believe that flowers are a gift from God representing the beauty and anomalies of nature.

When I look at a landscape or a flower, I see the relationship and harmony  between color and shape. That is what compostion is all about.

This painting is one of my favorites. It incorporates humor, whimsy and paradox to portray my own self portrait through my shoes. When I commuted to Wall Street for 15 years, I would amuse myself by looking first at a passenger's shoes on the subway. I would then try to paint a picture of this person in my mind before looking at the face.

I selected this to showcase my Life Portraits. These are paintings where I depict someone through objects such as shoes, ties, eye glasses, etc.

If you click on the tab titled "Animals," you will see several examples of my animal paintings. As with most of my work, these include some element of humor or paradox. These cows were painted from a photograph I took while visiting friends in Belgium. The ear tags are actually the birthdates of friends. I carefully assigned the dates based on personalities.

My Pet Portraits are really a hallmark of my work. Painting a pet in human terms, I prefer to meet and get to know my subjects. Otherwise, it is difficult to translate attitude and personality into a painted form.

This happens to be a portrait of my dog, Crockett. She is a rescue from Adopt-A-Lab in Indiana. As you can see, she's not a lab at all. She's a Skodap or "some kind of dog and poodle."  I painted her with lots of colorful ribbons and a tag saying: "All Dressed Up; Nowhere to Go."  What's a girl to do?
