Painted Pig Commission
I love commissions when I am given leeway to use my creativity. This very large painting resides in a game room in Aspen CO.
The Many Shoes of JAL
A special birthday gift to a friend with many shoe characters!
Congratulations!
A wedding gift to commemorate the special day for my niece in Long Island.
Shelf Portrait
Probably my most favorite painting--a self portrait expressed through my shoes. When I commuted to Wall Street, I used to play a game on the subway, generally not a fun place to be. I would start by looking at the shoes of the other passengers and I would create an image of what they did for a living and what they looked like from the feet up. Only after I had that mental image did I allow myself to look at the whole person.
So, here you have a collection of my shoes, showing the many faces of Stuart!
This is your life: Liza
This was painted for my goddaughter in Baltimore to display her collection of tea cups, as well as memorabilia from her school, camp and life as a teenager.
Eye Candy
When you wear readers, it is not uncommon to have a collection--a pair by every phone, or in every room. This is my collection, except for one outrageous addition. Wishful thinking.
Junk Yard Dog Marries Party Poodle
I painted this whimsical painting to honor my marriage to Chip in July 2010. He refers to himself as a junk yard dog--a serial entrepreneur who has had a range of businesses from geraniums to alcohol, with greenhouses, tomato, farming grapes and hospital products thrown in for extra credit. On the other hand, Chip refers to me as the "party poodle"-- a sophisticated dog with careers at American Express, Merrill Lynch and Accenture. And now, I am an artist. That must make me an Eccentric Party Poodle!
The Birthday Party
I painted this in honor of my 50th birthday. Along with my dogs Smithfield and Maggie (Magnolia), I have my friend Wheatie's dog, Chamois, and the neighbor's Jack Russell, Piper. Yes, there is also a Bulldog because no party is complete without one, along with presents and a game of "Pin the Tail on the Postman."
This painting led to my career as a pet portrait artist, and a display of my work at a store on Greenwich Avenue called Dog Days.
Happy Birthday, Wyn
For my son's 25th birthday, I painted this Life Portrait with objects representing special times. As a teen, he worked at Baskin Robbins and later interned at FACTSET. The flowers are from the opening of his tasting room and distillery, Mile High Spirits in Denver, CO. His products are on the shelf in the back.
Yeah, Wyn! Oh yes, his dog Mali is the one wearing the sunglasses.
Happy Birthday, Wheatie
There was so much to include in this painting--it could have been a grand mural. It is full of memorabilia, including Wilson Pickett's hit, Midnight Hour. Think there's some history here?
Happy Birthday, Doug
A commission for a significant birthday. The view is from Doug's office, with his desk, Golden Retriever, Chili, calendar of events and children playing outside.
